Emma Robertson is a soprano from Marietta, GA. She holds a masters degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music and a bachelor's degree in Music Performance from the University of Georgia.
Emma currently resides in Boston, MA. She is the soprano section leader/soloist at St. Michael's The Archangel in Hudson, MA under the director of Michael Olbash. She also is a resident musician at Grace Note Farm in Rhode Island.
Ms. Robertson made her Boston Lyric Opera debut in January 2025 in a concert version of Die Tote Stadt in collaboration with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She also made her debut with the Cambridge Chamber Ensemble (CCE) during their 2024 season as The Bride in Gian Carlo Menotti's Labyrinth. The performance was notable for the fact that it was the first live staging of the show in North America and the only other publicly available recording of the full opera in existence. Emma will return to perform with CCE this summer as Sally in Thomas Arne's baroque chamber opera Thomas and Sally.
In 2023, Ms. Robertson was named the first place winner of the Wilkinson Young Singers Fund Scholarship and performed in a sold-out winners' recital at the Harvard Musical Association.
From 2021-2022, Ms. Robertson was enrolled in the Vinceró Online Vocal Academy where she had the privilege of studying three roles: Adina, Susanna, and Musetta, the latter for which she was offered partial scholarship. Emma made her Carnegie Hall Debut with the program in January 2023, where she performed Norina's aria ("Quel guardo il cavaliére") from Don Pasquale and "Como se va contento" from L'Élisir d'Amore. She was also selected to perform as Susanna in Vinceró's production of Le nozze di Figaro in Mazatlán, MX in 2023.
As a student of Vinceró Academy, Emma worked one-on-one with instructors Abdiel Vàzquez, Stefano de Peppo, and Irina Meachem. She also took part in masterclasses and seminars with Angel Blue, Pretty Yende, Craig Rutenburg, Ana de Archuleta, and Ailyn Pérez.
Additional roles of note include Gianetta (L'Élisir d'Amore, Opera Maine), Cinderella (Into the Woods, Actor's Company of Natick), The Baker's Wife (Into the Woods, North End Music and Performing Arts Center), Milicia (SVADBA, New England Conservatory), and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro). As a concert soloist, Ms. Robertson has performed Beethoven Symphony No. 9, Mozart Requiem, Faure Requiem, and Handel's Messiah.
Ms. Robertson graduated the New England Conservatory of Music in 2022 with a masters degree in Vocal Performance. She continues to study privately with Mr. Michael Meraw. In 2020, she graduated the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Music Performance. There, she studied with mezzo-soprano Dr. Elizabeth Johnson-Knight.
